Production Cash Flow and Economic Projections

  • Production Forecasts
  • Value Optimization
  • Cost Analysis

Projections of future cash flow are the most frequent basis for the determination of the value of oil and gas properties and the most frequent use of reserve estimates. Long Consultants makes use of commercial PC-based petroleum economics software to schedule cash flow and calculate present values of projected future net revenue from oil and gas production. Estimates of revenue from sales and deductions for operating expenses, capital costs, ad valorem taxes, production taxes, and operating expenses are summed to determine net cash flow. Present value calculations indicate the worth of revenue in today’s dollars. Risks inherent in oil and gas projects, federal tax consequences, and other market conditions that vary with time can then be applied to assess value.
